Evan O'Dwyer pitched four and two-thirds (4.2IP 6H 0ER 6K) strong innings and Maple Grove took a big lead early, scoring a run in the first on singles from Nathan Schmidt, Beckett Shimpa, and Brody Berglin (RBI), and four more runs in the second on a single from Gavin Kusterman, a double from Dylan Vokal, a triple from Schmidt (2RBI), a single from Shimpa (RBI), and a double from O'Dwyer (RBI).
After an error in the fifth helped allow the Huskies to score three runs of their own, Matthew Johnson came in to help bridge the gap to the Crimson closer, Berglin. With score at 5-4 entering the bottom of the seventh, Berglin came in and recorded a scoreless inning (IP, 0H, 0R, BB, K) for the save. Schmidt led the way at the plate (2/4, 3B, 2RBI, 2R), with Shimpa (2/4, RBI, R) and Kellen Riskedahl (2/4) also contributing multiple hits.
