#5 Maple Grove Struggles to Get Going, Loses at #2 Mounds View

The Crimson bats really never got going against Tyler Guerin and Mounds View, and the Mustangs did just enough early to get a lead with a run in the third and two more in the fourth. MG finally broke the seal in the fifth, scoring a run and cutting the lead to 3-1; however, after two scoreless half-innings, Mounds View added four insurance runs in the sixth before pulling Guerin.

Maple Grove added two runs on the Mustang relievers in the seventh but couldn't quite break it open and fell by a final of 7-3. Highlights for the Crimson included Kaden Harney (1/4, RBI), Connor Wihlm (1/2, HBP, RBI, R), and Dylan Vokal (1/2, SF, RBI) each collecting base hits and RBI's on the day. Beckett Shimpa (1/4) had the other hit for MG, and Maddex VanSlooten stole a base and scored a run when he entered the game as a pinch runner in the fifth.
