MG puts another eight runs up in win over EP
Box Score 4/10/2026
Maple Grove 8, Eden Prairie 2
Eden Prairie struck first in Maple Grove's home opener, securing a lone run in the top of the first on two well-placed doubles. However, after giving up those two extra base hits, junior starter Damian Seubert (GS W 5IP 4K 0BB 4H 1ER; 1/2 R RBI) would hold the Eagles' bats mostly at bay, allowing only two more hits through his five innings of work.
Senior Preston Berg (1/3 2B BB 2R) got the bats going for the Crimson in the bottom of the second with a lead-off double. Senior Oliver Taynton (2/4 2R RBI SB) followed with an RBI-single, and the rally didn't stop until the home team scored four runs. Seubert pitched a 1-2-3 top of the third, and Berg got another rally started for the Crimson in the bottom half of the inning with a lead-off four-pitch walk. Taynton singled again and stole second, Seubert singled to drive in Berg, and senior Evan O'Dwyer (0/2 2RBI SF) drove in Taynton with a sacrifice fly.
The Eagles wouldn't go away and created their own rally in the top of the fourth, but could only produce one unearned run. The score remained 6-2 through the fifth and junior Vince Lenmark (2IP 2BB K 2H 0R) came in for the last two innings to close the game out on the mound. Maple Grove scored two insurance runs in the sixth on senior Joey Limric's (3/4 2B R SB) lead-off double, a single from senior Ian Farley (3/4 R RBI SB), and 2-RBI single from junior Beckett Shimpa (1/4 2RBI). Senior Connor Wilhm (2/4) also had a multiple-hit day and the Crimson improved to 2-0 in Lake Conference play.
