Battle at Veterans Field goes Skippers' way on walk-off blast
Box Score 4/24/2026
Minnetonka 6, Maple Grove 5
In a back and forth contest, the Crimson drew first blood in the top of the third when sophomore Brogan Stowe (0/2 SAC R RBI) laid down a bunt to bring home junior Vince Lenmark (1/3 R) who had led off the inning with a single to center field. Junior Damian Seubert (4IP 5H 3ER 2BB 4K) got the start on the mound for MG and pitched three scoreless innings before the Skippers struck back with force, producing four runs on three hits, including two doubles, in the bottom of the fourth.
The score remained 4-1 in favor of Minnetonka until the sixth inning, when senior Oliver Taynton (1/3 2B 2RBI) doubled home two runs to bring the deficit to one. After senior Matthew Kuno (L 2.1IP 3H 2ER 2BB K) held the Skippers scoreless in the bottom of the sixth, the Crimson took a lead in the top of the seventh. A hit-by-pitch and an error put runners on second and third with one out when senior Preston Berg (1/3 BB R 2RBI) laced a two-run single to center, giving the Crimson a 5-4 advantage.
With MG looking to end a streak, Tonka had a different plan. The Skippers led off with a double, and after a foul fly out for out number one, Jake Musgjerd hit a walk-off shot over the right field fence, giving the home team the victory.
