With two strikeouts to start the game, the Crimson looked to be taking charge of the Eagles. However, two two-out errors, a double, and a single extended the frame and Totino-Grace score three unearned runs to take an early lead. Junior Evan O'Dwyer (L, 5IP, 3H, 0ER, 7K) battled valiantly on the hill, but the Maple Grove bats were mostly silent. Eagles pitchers spread out five Crimson hits, with the home squad scoring a lone run in the third inning when junior Ian Farley (1/3, 2B, R) led off with a double, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on sophomore Beckett Shimpa's (1/4, RBI) two-out single. Totino added an insurance run in the sixth; and while MG put runners on again in both the sixth and the seventh, they failed to close the gap, losing 4-1
