Crimson Best Redbirds on Senior Night

Sophomore Beckett Shimpa (W, 6IP, 3H, 1ER, 6K) pitched effectively after giving up a single run in the top of the first inning; and senior Ian Schock (IP, 0H, 0R, 3K) closed the door in the seventh with three strikeouts. Junior Joey Limric (3/4, R, 2RBI, 2SB) paced the Crimson at the plate, with junior Connor Wihlm (2/3, 2B, RBI) also producing multiple hits for the home squad.

While the Cardinals scored first in the top half of inning number one, the Crimson rallied back quickly with two runs of their own in the bottom of half. MG added an insurance run in the fourth on a Joey Limric RBI single. And the gates busted open for four runs in the sixth on singles from junior Preston Berg (1/1, 2BB, 2R, SB) and Limric (bunt), as well as two walks, two hit-by-pitches, a passed ball, and a sacrifice bunt from senior Maddex Van Slooten (R, RBI) that plated a run and placed him at third after an error on the throw.
