O'Dwyer goes six strong, Stowe closes the seventh, Crimson take down Chaska
Box Score 5/4/2026
Maple Grove 4, Chaska 2
Senior Evan O'Dwyer (GS W 6IP 6H 2ER 2BB 8K) took the mound for the Crimson and got the win, pitching six solid innings, allowing solo runs to the Hawks in the first and sixth, striking out eight Hawks. Meanwhile, the MG offense struggled early, going hitless for the first four frames before busting out for three runs on three singles and three hit-by-pitch.
Down 1-0 in the fifth, senior Joey Limric (2/3 2R SB) started off the rally with a one-out single up the middle. Sophomore Vince Lenmark (2/3 3B R RBI) followed with a one-out single up the middle as well. After a pop up for out number two, a hit by pitch loaded the bases, and another hit by pitch tied the game. With the bases loaded and two outs, junior Beckett Shimpa (1/2 SAC 2RBI) clutched up and drove in two runs with a single to right.
Facing a 3-1 defecit, the Chaska offense attempted a rally of their own in the sixth; however, O'Dwyer held them to a single tally, and the Crimson maintained a one-run lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Limric singled again - this time with two outs - and Lenmark tripled to right, driving him in and pushing the lead back to two. Sophomore Brogan Stowe (SV 1IP 0H 0R 1K) came in to close things out, pitching a clean seventh for his first save of the season and Maple Grove's seventh win.
Next up: the Crimson travel to Round Lake Park Stadium to take on Eden Prairie, 6:30pm Wednesday
