The visiting Trojans put up runs early and often, striking for a lone run in the top of the first with a lead-off triple and a sacrifice fly. They added on with two in the second on a lead-off solo home run, a walk, a fielder's choice and a single. And they struck from five in the third on three singles, a walk, and a grand slam.

For the remaining four innings, the Crimson bested the Trojans 7-5; however, it wasn't enough to recover from the eight-run deficit, and the visitors took home the victory 13-7. Senior Connor Johnson (2/3, HR, R, SB, 2RBI) gathered in two hits, one a line-drive blast over the right field wall. And Sophomore Beckett Shimpa (2/4, 2B, R, RBI) tallied two hits of his own, with an extra-base hit of his own. Sophomore Vince Lenmark (1/4, IP, 0R, 0BB, K) pitched a scoreless seventh in relief.
