Brogan starts, Lenmark finishes, Crimson beat Royals in Section 5AAAA Round One

Sophomore Brogan Stowe (GS W 5.1IP 6H 2ER 6K) toed the rubber for the Crimson and pitched solidly into the sixth before giving way to junior Vince Lenmark (1.2IP H 0R K) to close it out. The home bats jumped out early with three runs in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI double from senior Oliver Taynton (1/4 2B R 2RBI) and an RBI single from junior Damian Seubert (2/3 2B 3RBI) that also included and error to allow the third run. The Royals battled back with two runs of their own in the third to bring the margin to a single run. After several zeroes, the Maple Grove offense erupted for four more runs in the fifth including a two-RBI double from Seubert.
In the sixth, Rogers put up a run; however, MG paced that with one of their own, and Lenmark shut the door on the Royals with two fly outs and a strikeout to finish the seventh and wrap up the victory. Senior Joey Limric (2/4 R RBI) matched Seubert's two-hit performance at the plate for Maple Grove, while Gangnon, Oldenburg, and Allard each had two hits for Rogers. Round two of MSHSL Section 5AAAA baseball continues for the Crimson on Thursday. Site and time to be determined based on the result of the first round match up between Champlin Park and Irondale.
