Maple Grove 11, Buffalo 1 (6 inn)
Junior Damian Seubert (CG W 6IP 3H ER BB HBP 12K) gave up a first pitch home run and then dominated the rest of the game, as the Maple Grove bats continued creating the offense to take a run-rule game from visiting Buffalo. After the Bison grabbed two early hits and one run in the first inning, Seubert settled in, striking out a season-high twelve batters while allowing a single run over his last five innings.
At the plate, several Crimson hitters provided pop with multiple-hit games, including senior Joey Limric (3/5 R 4RBI) and junior Beckett Shimp (3/4 2B HR 3R 3RBI) who also slugged a double and his second home run of the year. Seubert (2/4 2R RBI) contributed to his own cause with two hits and seniors Oliver Taynton (2/3 BB R) and Ian Farley (2/4 2B R RBI) also joined the multiple-hit parade.
After Buffalo's first innning run, the Crimson immediately struck back in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game, then grabbed two more runs in the second, another three in the fourth, two more in the fifth, and finally walked off the visitors with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. The win was Maple Grove's fourth in a row, bringing their season record to 9-5 and their Lake Conference record back to an even 5-5.
